LOVEM Ministries, Inc. was organized in Raleigh, NC, on December 29, 1980, by two Baptist ministers, Jack W. Robbins and Larry B. Jordan. Jack and Larry, who had first met in 1976 in Sulphur Springs, TX, met regularly for  ntercessory prayer with members of their respective churches. Since then, approximately 30 persons have been involved in this ministry full-time, reaching out to numerous countries and states doing short-term mission work, planting new churches, and involving hundreds of ordinary Christians in the Great Commission.

Since its beginning, LOVEM Ministries has worked faithfully along-side the International Mission Board and North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Southern Baptists have been the heart and soul of the ministry; however, LOVEM has worked cooperatively with other evangelical groups such as Campus Crusade for Christ, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Gideons Inter-national, Inter-Varsity, Gospel Association of India, American Bible Society, Wycliffe Bible Translators, The Navigators and others in fulfilling the Great Commission in our generation.
